As a Frontliner and a Breastfeeding mother, is it safe to get Covid Vaccine?

TipsniFranxa#1: Breast pumping the other breast while baby is feeding on the other is good to improve breastmilk stash.

As a nurse, I know to myself that I need to have the Covid-19 vaccine.

But I have all this doubt in my head.

Is it safe for the breastfeeding mommy? What will be it's effect to my baby?

There are so many benefits on breastfeeding. Bonding of Mommy and baby is just a bonus of it! Dito natin napaparamdam ang pagmamahal natin kay baby and vice versa. It is also one way of the babies to show their love to us. Also to tell you the truth mommy, SOBRANG LAKING TIPID!

BreastPumping @ Work

Breastmilk contains nutritional components, antioxidants, enzymes, immune properties and live antibodies from us na naipapasa natin kay baby. May gatas ka na, may vitamins ka pa! Breastfed babies is also healthier and may have fewer instances of allergies and asthma and greater immunity to infection. Breastfeeding is also healthier for mom physically and emotionally.

BUT! Breastfeeding is not as easy as everyone thinks. Yung pagod na hindi ko alam kung saan nanggagaling every time I’m feeding my baby. Some says that the baby is also taking your energy, and I really think it’s true. The time it’s taking specially when I’m at work and needs to pump. The pain you get when you have CLOGGED DUCTS! NO JOKE! INDEED PAINFUL! Clogged ducts occur for different reasons. But all of this is WORTH IT!

So, Let us go back to our question.

IS IT SAFE TO HAVE COVID-19 VACCINE WHEN YOU ARE BREASTFEEDING MOM?

First of all , before getting a vaccine ASK YOUR DOCTOR and having it is your choice.

In my experience before I got my Covid-19 vaccine I’ve done my own research about it. Let me share it with you. World Health Organization says, Vaccine efficacy is expected to be similar in lactating women as in other adults. There is a limited data but they assure that the vaccine is not a live virus UNLIKELY TO POSE A RISK TO THE BREASTFEEDING BABY. A good news for me! This convinced me to get my shot. And also, the WHO does not recommend to stop breastfeeding if the mother is vaccinated. In recent data, breastfeeding people who got vaccinated have antibodies in their milk, which could HELP PROTECT THEIR BABIES. In this case I thought that having Covid-19 vaccine benefits outweigh my doubts and fear, I hope yours too. Thank you for your time! See you on my next writing !

About Me

My photo
A Good day, today momshie isn’t it? Good day to find someone who understands the struggle of a mommy. Well, Here I am. I give you myself! Haha! Who am I? My name is Franxa. Working as an OB Nurse for 8hours everyday and a Mom of two 25 hours a day, well 24 hours is never enough for us right?! Like you I am not a perfect mother but very much willing to learn to be a better one. Like you, I also want the best for my children. I want to be with them every second. I want to give them the best and healthiest food and things in life. I want them to be a God-fearing child. I want to mold them to be a respectful Man and Woman. I want them to be smart. But my question is, HOW? I honestly really don’t know. All I know is we have to love them with all our hearts. Trust ourselves and our motherly instincts with every decision we made for them. Accept our faults and say sorry when we are wrong. We are not and will never be perfect and so our children. We need to continue educate ourselves for them. Know every whats and hows. Kaya, Tara! Samahan nyo ko araw-araw matuto para sakanila!

KAPAG BA PATAY ANG SANGGOL SA LOOB NG SINAPUPUNAN, NAKAKALASON BA ITO SA INA?

Good day momshie! Do you agree that we are the STRONGEST , but we really are SCARED when it comes to our children or the child inside our ...
